Information on Atira House and Eversafe Ranch
We currently operate 17 housing programs throughout the lower mainland, as well as various supportive services including legal advocacy, self-employment initiatives, peer support programs, counseling, and more.
Atira is always in need of the following donations:
- New Sheets & Towels
- New Socks & Underwear
- Gently used kitchen and cooking items
- Gently used blankets
- Gently used electronics (in good working condition)
- Toiletries
- Games & Toys
- Gently used shoes and bags
Atira may accept furniture if there is an immediate need, however we do not have the space to store furniture items.
Eversafe Ranch:
Eversafe Ranch Outreach Society provides free furniture and housewares to families in need. The majority of our clients are women and children who have fled domestic violence and need help transitioning from emergency shelters or secondary housing.
We provide our clients with a truck full of free furniture and housewares to help them make a new home. We also provide community dinners and events, including Christmas gifts and hampers to families who are not eligible for the Surrey Christmas Bureau due to lack of a civic address.
Women who are leaving Atira Women’s Resource Society to move into permanent housing can get assistance from Eversafe Ranch to set up their new home.
Unfortunately, the demand in Surrey alone is extremely high. We deliver furniture at least twice a week and are fully booked for months to come. Volunteers and gently used furniture donations are greatly appreciated.
ITEMS IN HIGH DEMAND (Gently used only please)
- Dressers!
- Bunk beds
- Barely used mattresses
- Other gently used household furniture
- Housewares (dishes, utensils, toasters, coffee-makers, etc.)
- Vacuums (and other cleaning supplies)
- *As we run on donations alone, we charge a small fee to pick up your furniture to cover the cost of fuel, our moving truck, and storage.
